METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING LEAKY BUCKET ALGORITHM

PURPOSE: A method for implementing a leaky bucket algorithm is provided to perform a traffic control by using a leaky bucket algorithm ranged over two steps. And the method can reduce a cell delay according to reducing threshold value of an input buffer. CONSTITUTION: A method for implementing a leaky bucket algorithm comprises the steps of: deciding a cell loss priority bit of an arrived cell; inputting the cell to a first buffer according to a result of the result; inputting the inputted cell to a second buffer according to a storage state of the first buffer; tagging a cell loss priority bit of the inputted cell according to a storage state of the second buffer.
