摘要 |
PURPOSE: A laser diode of an optical disk device is provided to reduce the size of the optical disk device by shortening a laser beam passage through converting a diffused laser beam into a parallel laser beam. CONSTITUTION: A laser diode(100) is composed of a housing(110), a laser diode chip(120), and a convex lens(130). The laser diode chip is electrically connected to the output terminal of a laser driver IC(2) for generating a laser beam as the current inputted from the laser driver IC. The convex lens is fixed at the upper end of the housing for converting a diffused laser beam from the laser diode chip into a parallel laser beam. The parallel laser beam is inputted to a grating for being inputted to a beam splitter. The parallel laser beam is reflected on a mirror toward an object lens. Thus, the parallel beam is irradiated on the pit of a disk. Herein, the parallel laser beam is outputted from the laser diode for shortening the beam passage to simplify the structure of an optical device. |
