PURPOSE: A method for selecting an antenna according to receiving sensibility in a cellular phone is provided to extend a using time of a battery, by selecting a directional antenna and an omnidirectional antenna, according to the receiving sensibility, after estimating extent of the receiving sensibility corresponding to change of a radio wave. CONSTITUTION: In a cellular phone with a directional antenna, an omnidirectional antenna, and a switch selecting one between the two antennas, a method for selecting an antenna according to receiving sensibility comprises the steps of: detecting the receiving sensibility while calling, by selecting the directional antenna; comparing a receiving sensibility signal of the directional antenna with a predetermined first standard value; and switching the omnidirectional antenna, if the receiving sensibility is lower than the first standard value.
