METHOD FOR CONTROLLING VOICE OF SET-TOP BOX

PURPOSE: A method is provided to automatically select a proper voice corresponding to a program selected by the TV audience, and to convert automatically a voice mode by a program kinds information provided from a broadcasting system. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a voice of a set-top box includes four steps. The first step is to watch a channel selection by the TV audience. The second step is to receive a program kinds information corresponding to the selected channel from an electronic program guide when a predetermined channel is selected by the TV audience. The third step is to receive an audio/video signal corresponding to the selected channel by an audio/video signal input portion by outputting a channel adjusting signal corresponding to the selected channel. The fourth step is to perform a proper voice processing on a program according to the selected channel by switching an input switch and an output switch composing a voice surround processor by outputting a voice effect adjusting signal by the received program kinds information.
