METHOD FOR LONG TIME RECORD/PLAY OF MAGNETIC RECORD MEDIUM

PURPOSE: A method for long time record/play of a magnetic record medium is provided to record/play a plurality of image signal fields per one round of a head. CONSTITUTION: A method for long time record/play of a magnetic record medium includes three steps. At the first step(S01), the magnetic record medium is driven at a constant speed below the speed according to X3 mode. At the second step(S04), input image signal is processed on a field basis. At the third step(S09), the processed image signal field is recorded on the magnetic record medium during one of heads is round for one time. The driving speed of the magnetic record medium is a value same to the speed according to X3 mode by divided by 2, and the number of fields of the plurality of image signal is multiples of 2. The round speed of the head is a value same to a standard speed divided by 2.
