PURPOSE: A method is provided to achieve an improved user convenience and operational reliability of air conditioner by continuously operating the system in a stabilized manner regardless of ambient temperature change. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of setting an over load temperature to a micro computer for controlling the system cycle, sensing the temperature of the air being discharged from a compressor, and comparing the sensed temperature with the temperature set in the micro computer; a second step of increasing rotational state of the outdoor fan by one step so as to increase air volume of the outdoor unit increases if the system is in a cooling operation mode and turning off the outdoor fan if the system is in a heating operation, if the sensed temperature is higher than the preset temperature; and a third step of decreasing air volume of the outdoor fan so as to return to the normal operation if the system is in a cooling operation mode and normally operating the outdoor fan if the system is in a heating operation, if the sensed temperature is lower than the preset temperature.
