PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device which is free of deterioration in image quality, for example, generation of ghosts, requiring higher cost by performing color corrections and ink generation, when forming an image, removing base colors, detecting an edge quantity by using image data before a UCR process and emphasizing the edge corresponding to the detected edge quantity. SOLUTION: Strong edge enhancement is applied only on the original edge part for detecting edge quantity by using G data before color correction. Here, G data are used to detect the edge quantity but R data or B data are also available because a black image is on a white background. MTP, however, is the highest and the G data having good sensitivity are preferably used. CMYK data after color correction and ink generation are used as the image data of after UCR processing used for detecting edge quantity. A CMYK selecting part is a circuit which selects data when the CMYK data are processed in surface order. |
