PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of easily and quickly performing replacement, correction, or the like of a failing document by enabling an operator to preliminarily recognize failure contents when there is a failure in close area image processing. SOLUTION: This image processor is provided with a bit map memory 4 for a document where read image data is stored, a closed area designation part, a closed area detection part which detects the position information of a close area designated by the closed area designation part from image data stored in the bit map memory 4 for document, a bit map memory 8 for area where position information detected by the close area detection part is expanded and held, an image processing part 2 which subjects the inside and the outside of the closed area to different image processings according to contents of the bit map memory 8 for area, and a display part 9 on which contents of the memory 8 are displayed to the outside, thereby enabling an operator to recognize in advance the failure contents of image processing based on display on the display part 9.
