PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe battery by clarifying the relationship between battery safety and a battery discharging characteristic in an internal short circuit system, battery capacity and a battery surface area. SOLUTION: In relation to a sealed battery composed of an electrode group composed by winding a positive electrode 3 and a negative electrode 1 interlaying a separator 2, a bottomed metal battery can 4 for storing the electrode group, and a battery sealing part for airtightly sealing the battery can 4 after an nonaqueous electrolyte is injected in the bottomed metal battery can 4, the feature of this nonaqueous solvent secondary battery is that when it is assumed that battery nominal capacity is P (mAh), a battery surface area is S (cm2), discharging capacity in discharging the battery with P (mA) is C1 (mAh), and discharging capacity in discharging the battery with 3×P (mA) is C3 (mAh), a relational expression of 0.2<C3/C1<0.8 is satisfied in the region of P/S>45. |
