PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow files, in which a prescribed record definition has been done, to be made as a data base in an area matching the definition contents by converting data which are written or read to a relational data base format or COBOL format according to an analysis result. SOLUTION: A PR computer 2 has an access conversion part 6 which converts input/output instructions of COBOL so as to gain access to a data base and a record definition analysis part 9 which analyzes input/output data. The record definition analysis part 9 has a redefinition processing part 10 and a repeatition processing part 11 and when REDFINES is used for an accessed file, the records of a file redefined by the redefinition processing part 10 are converted to row access to a corresponding relational data base. When OCCURS is used, the repeatition processing part 11 converts the records whose repetition has been defined to access to tables of the data base.
