PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the printing job interruption system and method which interrupt a job in printing operation and start another job, and further restarts the interrupted printing job from the interruption state. SOLUTION: Hosts a 100 and b 200 share one printer 300 through a network, etc., and if the host b 200 makes an interruption request for printing while a job sent from the host a 100 is being printed, this interruption system judges whether the job which is being printed can be interrupted; if possible, the printer 300 or interrupted host a 100 saves the printing state of the interrupted job and after the printing of the interrupting job ends, the printing of the interrupted job is restarted.
