PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion riser and pipe member which can enforce quickly without generating a scrap material. SOLUTION: An engaged area 26 including plural projections 28 provided at some intervals in the axis direction is formed on the outer surface of an inner pipe part 16. While, projections engagingly locked with the projections 28 are formed on the inner surface of the outer pipe part 14. At the adjust time of the length of an expansion riser 10, the insertion length of the inner pipe part 16 for the outer pipe part 14 is adjusted and then, the inner pipe part 16 for the outer pipe part 14 is relatively turned and above projections are engaged mutually from the periphery direction. Thereby, as the length can be adjusted without cutting the pipe, the work execution time can be shortened. As the scrap material is not generated, the problem of a cost and environment destruction generated in response to the disposal of the scrap material can be dissolved.
