PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary sensor which can detect the angle of rotation of a control shaft which is rotated in a state where an external throttle valve, etc., is couple even when the control shaft has a play in thrust or radial direction. SOLUTION: A rotary sensor is constituted of a slider piece 16a having a contact 16b on a rotating body 15 side and a conductor pattern formed on a substrate 17 arranged on the side opposite to the piece 16a and a control shaft 23 is provided with a plate-like projecting section 23a which is extended from the center of rotation in the perpendicular direction at the front end section. A groove section 15d is formed in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the shaft 23 and the projecting section 23a is engaged with the groove section 15d and, at the same time, the contact section 16b of the piece 16a is positioned at a position which nearly perpendicular to the direction of the groove section 15d. Therefore, the sensor can detect the angle or direction of rotation of the control shaft 23 with high accuracy by absorbing the play or eccentricity of the shaft 23.
