PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video/sound processor which can independently set an image picking-up area and a sound wave picking-up area and a method for controlling the processor. SOLUTION: Since a camera/microphone device 10 having a remotely- controllable camera and a microphone controls the panning, tilting, and/or zooming of the camera by means of a camera control section 102 and the sound wave picking-up direction and range of the microphone in accordance with a control instruction received from a video/sound reproducing device 200, the camera and microphone can be controlled independently from a remote place.
