PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can obtain superior image quality or image quality of user's desire by adopting at least systematic dither method for one of the pseudo-halftone processes and optionally setting threshold by a user with respect to the threshold matrix used for the systematic dither method. SOLUTION: This device displays a set size selected at a set size part on a display part 31 and has a threshold matrix input area 32 of the size. The part, which cannot be displayed on the display area of the threshold matrix input area 32, is displayed by scrolling the image in the area 32 by the operation of right-side and lower-side scrollbars 34 and 35. A user inputs an arbitrary threshold by a keyboard, an inputting device, etc., to each matrix position of the threshold matrix inputting area 32 to constitute the threshold matrix. When the user indicates a file store button, a picture for keeping the constituted threshold matrix in a file is displayed.
