PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently remove shading stripes by smaller resources by calculating a pseudo density at respective extracted dot parts, correcting the pseudo density according to pseudo density which is calculated regarding the peripheral dot parts, converting the pseudo density into number of dots, correcting the density according to the number of dots and outputting binary image data which includes respective dot parts of dot constitution. SOLUTION: A CPU 10 converts binary data which are to be read into binary data to be outputted in the process of reading the binary image manuscript which includes the dot image by a CCD censor 30. The pseudo density of each extracted dot part is calculated, based on the information about the dot part written in a dot information data base. This pseudo density has a value, which depends on the size of the dot part and the intervals of respective dot parts and is reflected the image density expressed by the set of the dot parts. Here, the pseudo density calculated for respective dot parts is subject to smoothing.
