PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify connecting operation by connecting a personal computer peripheral device having an SCSI interface to a computer having an IEEE1394 host system through a connector having an IEEE1394-SCSI conversion logic part. SOLUTION: A personal computer PC42 and a peripheral device 40 are connected through the IEEE1394 connector. In the case of executing packet communication between the IEEE1394 host controller of the PC42 and the peripheral device 40 of a target, the connector 41 analyzes a 1394 header in an IEEE1394 packet 30 by a host controller and at the time of judging it to be an instruction to the device 40, converts a 1394 command next to the header to an SCSI command 31 to transfer to the device 40 of the target through an SCSI interface. Topology restriction and termination are unnecessitated by connecting the peripheral device having the SCSI interface to an IEEE1394 interface through a converter in this manner.
