PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the executing speed of a program of a specific language which is supposed to executed on a virtual machine such as a Java program. SOLUTION: A computer system includes a Java code processor 22 which can directly execute a Java instruction, a Java local memory 24 which is used when the Java instruction is executed, a memory map/DMA unit 25 which performs the memory mapping and the DMA transfer, a method cache 26, etc., in addition to a CPU 11. When a Web browser requests a virtual machine such as a Java VM to execute a Java program via a VM interface, the information necessary for execution of the Java program is given to the processor 22 in place of the virtual machine. Thus, the processor 22 starts to execute the Java program.
