PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of an automatic controller. SOLUTION: This automatic controller 2A is provided with an MPU 3 operating according to a clock signal CLK outputted by an oscillator 4, a cooling fan 10 forcibly cooling the MPU 3 by air, a memory 6 storing a control program, a counter 7 which performs frequency dividing of the signal CLK based on a frequency division value set by the MPU 3 and outputs an interruption signal BT, an inputting part 8 inputting quantity C to be controlled from a control object device 1 through input processing of the MPU 3, an input port 11 to which a fan fault signal FF is inputted, an outputting part 9 outputting control quantity M to the device 1 through output processing of the MPU 3, a protecting means lowering the frequency of the signal CLK when the fan 10 stops and a correcting means which maintains a time constant of a numerical integration method used for a control operation on a fixed level in accordance with the change of an operation cycle due to the drop of the frequency of the signal CLK.
