PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate display operation of related information and reading thereof by providing this information recording device with a signal processor for transforming character information to character data, a display device for displaying the transformed character data as characters, and a recording cassette for housing a signal recording medium and the signal process. SOLUTION: This information recording device adds character information inputted from a keyboard device 23 to a signal processor 31, in a recording cassette 11 via an input interface 24 which is arranged in an information input device 21. The signal processor 31 writes a transformed character data in a memory 32, and makes a liquid crystal display device 12 display it. The information recording device houses plural horizontal sensors 34a-34n in a recording cassette 11, detects the direction of the arrangement of the recording cassette 11, and makes the upper and lower parts of the character in the recording cassette 11 to watch with the upper and lower parts of the character by controlling a liquid crystal drive circuit 33. Character change information forwarded from the keyboard device 23 is compared with the character data recorded in the memory 32 and updated into newest corresponding character data.
