PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for facilitating installation of an electronic device in a housing device. SOLUTION: A carrier 100 used when an electronic device 408, for example, the peripheral device of a computer is installed in a housing device 400 contains an actuator 104. In a specific embodiment, the actuator 104 is composed of a slidable cam plate. While the carrier 100 is inserted into the housing device 400, the cam plate is protruded from the bezels 502 and 504 for decoration of the electronic device 408. The carrier 100 is inserted into the housing device 400 until the bezels 502 and 504 of the device 408 are flushed with the front section of the housing device 400. When the cam plate is pushed in the device 400, compressive pads 118 on both sides of the carrier 100 are pushed out and clamp the carrier 100 to both sides 410 and 412 of the device 400. When the cam plate is pushed in the device 400, in addition, a metallic surface 302 is also pushed out and comes into contact with the side wall of the housing device 400 and is electrically grounded.
