PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat flexible cable connector capable of surely and easily connecting a flat flexible cable such as an FPC and capable of keeping the connected flat flexible cable from slipping off unnecesarily. SOLUTION: A slider 3 obliquely slides. The slider 3 pulled up to an upper position is guided by a guide surface 23 and moved forward Y1, thus securing a sufficient insertion space for FPC insertion. An engagement projection 54 of the slider 3 present in the upper position abuts on a stopper 55 of a housing 2, thereby preventing the slider 3 from leaning forward. It does not occur that the insertion space S is narrowed due to the leaning slider 3 and that the insertion of an FPC is made difficult.
