PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of providing stable and standardized illumination to a specimen for a long time. SOLUTION: A system 100 has a light emitting source 101 containing a semiconductor device such as LED directed to the optical axis of a condensing system 150. The condensing system 150 contains a group of condensing lenses 104 and at least one CCD detector 111. An optical element 102 located between the light emitting source 101 and a specimen 110 leads a part of entire light energy emitted from the light emitting source 101 to a monitor detector 105. The monitor detector 105 measures light intensity to illuminate the specimen 110, and compares it with the level of a reference light emitting source 108 measured in advance. Based on the result of this comparison and inputs such as a temperature and a color, a driving current to the light emitting source 101 is adjusted so as to illuminate the specimen without inconsistency. |
