PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection film for a polarizing plate without degrading UV absorbing power or being colored even if it is exposed under the severe condition of high temperature and high humidity for a long time by containing a metal oxide of a specific average grain size and specific compound. SOLUTION: This includes a metal oxide having average grain size of 0.1 μm or less and a compound expressed in the formula. In the formula, R1-R5 can be the same or different, and they show a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a nitro group, a hydroxyl group, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, alkoxy group, an acyloxy group, an aryloxy group, an alkylthion group, an arylthio group, a mono- or dialkylamino group, an acylamino group, and heterocyclic group of 5 or 6 members containing oxygen or nitrogen. R4 and R5 can be closed to form ring of 5 or 6 members composed of carbon atoms. For a cellulose ester film used here, cellulose acetate, cellulose acetate butylate, cellulose acetate propionate, or the like is mentioned. |
