摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently control particle size, dispersity and distribution by providing a substrate, a phase varying film that is varied partially in the phase and a magnetic layer formed on the phase varying film. SOLUTION: A magnetic storage medium comprises a substrate for magnetic storage medium, a phase varying film which is turned partially crystalline or amorphous and a magnetic layer provided on the phase varying film. First, a phase varying film is formed on the substrate for magnetic storage medium, the phase varying film obtained is varied in the phase to the crystal film or amorphous film and a magnetic layer is formed on this phase varying film. Here, when a magnetic layer is formed on such phase varying film, a crystal magnetic layer may be formed on the crystal film of the phase varying film and moreover amorphous magnetic layer may be formed selectively on the amorphous phase varying film by controlling crystal film or amorphous film of the phase varying film as required. Thereby, particle size, dispersity and distribution of magnetic particle of the formed magnetic layer can be controlled in the manual process.
