PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the transmission efficiency by transmitting a pilot symbol not needing a null subcarrier. SOLUTION: A window function arithmetic section 23 receives a pilot symbol in an output of a guard interval elimination section 17. A window function generating section 24 generates, e.g. a Hanning window and a window function arithmetic section 23 multiplies the Hanning window by an OFDM symbol. Thus, interference of a sub carrier is produced and an output after FFT processing has a power different by each sub carrier. This change corresponds to a deviation of carrier frequency. A known series generator 22 generates this known series for each frequency deviation and a carrier frequency error estimate section 21 obtains a frequency error on the basis of a correlation between an actual FFT output and the known series. Furthermore, a sampling timing error estimate section 26 estimates a sampling error from an output of an FFT section 19 to control a sampling timing block generating section 15. Thus, no null is required for a pilot symbol and the transmission efficiency is enhanced.
