<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) multiplexer which selectively execute cell rejection processing in a congestion state based on the use state of the same connection formed by cells from an ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) exchange sides and the side of subscribers without installing a UPC(use parameter control) device. SOLUTION: This ATM multiplexer 109 comprises a detecting means 118 which is connected to an ATM exchange and each of plural subscribers through an ATM communication line, performs multiplexing processing of ATM cells transmitted from the plural subscribers and is for detecting the level of a congestion state corresponding to a received ATM cell 157 from the subscribers and rejecting means (111, 115 and 117) for selectively reject the received ATM cell from the subscribers based on a communication state decided by a received ATM cell 155 from the ATM exchange and the received ATM cell from the subscribers and the level value of a informative signal 129 showing the detected congestion state.</p> |
