PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an improved device utilizing digital music processing hardware by generating an output in response to a sound string so that sounds having different tone quality are generated in response to respective notes in a string and by respective sound levels related to respective notes. SOLUTION: When a user 26 for a digital instrument 22 plays a series of notes, e.g. a C scale, by the instrument 22, an amplifier 28 generates words whose sound levels are set up by tones responded by respective words in response to the instrument. A batch for relating respective keys on a keyboard too respective solfeggio scale names is downloaded from a music server 40 to a memory 36 in a processor 24. Since data structure is a group of MIDI notes, sounds having respective different quality are included. Respectively different sounds are allocated to respectively different MIDI notes, and when these notes are played (in a suitable case), a sing is sung by the amplifier 28 preferably by the sound levels of the notes.
