PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict the occurrence of a page break process when a print terminal emulator opens or closes a printer ad to obtain a desired print result which is free of a page slippage when the print terminal on a host is emulated on the computer system. SOLUTION: In this computer system 3 which emulates the print terminal on the host 1, the print terminal emulator 7 when receiving application task data sent by brackets from the host sequentially issues a series of instructions, such as an assign instruction, an open instruction, an output instruction for application task data, etc., to a printer 5 on the computer system 3, which are needed for print terminal emulation. The print terminal emulator 7 inserts previously set page change control information into the open instruction and issues it to a format management module 13 of an operating system. The format management module 13 having received the open instruction performs a page change process on the printer 5 on the computer system 3 according to the page break control information included in the open instruction.
