PURPOSE: A method for detecting the water level in a fully automatic washing machine is provided, to optimize the water-supply amount according to the amount of laundry articles. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of determining whether the start button of a washing machine is inputted or not (step 1); measuring the height of laundry articles by using the photosensor comprising a light emitting part and a light receiving part which are set at both sides of a reservoir along the direction of height if the start button is inputted (step 2); calculating the amount of laundry articles by using the height of laundry articles determined at the step 2 and determining the water-supply amount corresponding to the calculated amount of laundry articles (step 3); and supplying water to the level corresponding to the water-supply amount determined at the step 3 and performing washing, rinsing and dehydrating (step 4). |
