PURPOSE: A method is provided to restore by modifying an OSD(On Screen Display) letter stored in a memory or to output by generating and storing a new OSD letter. CONSTITUTION: An OSD method includes a determining step, a first display step and a second display step. The OSD method is performed in a digital TV(Television). The digital TV stores OSD(On Screen Display) data extracted from a digital broadcasting signal received from a predetermined broadcasting receiving portion in a predetermined memory and displays the stored OSD information. The determining step is to receives an OSD requirement and determines whether the OSD requirement is an OSD change requirement or an OSD input requirement. The first display step is to generate and display a changed OSD letter by extracting an OSD letter from the predetermined memory when the OSD requirement is the OSD change requirement. The second display step is to generate and display an input letter when the OSD requirement is not the OSD change requirement.
