PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the contrast of a display device and to prevent the luminance difference from being disturbed by varying dynamic ranges and offset values of display signal voltages with respect to the characteristic fluctuation generated in a characteristic of applied voltage versus transmissivity(V-T). SOLUTION: A V-T fluctuation detecting circuit 1 operates in one vertical blanking period by a timing signal for detecting V-T fluctuation 16 from a display timing controller 8 and the results are reflected in an analog voltage generating circuit 6 and a video signal 9 and a synchronizing signal 10 are inputted to the display timing controller 8. New display signal voltages in which correction values produced by the analog voltage generating circuit 6 are added to display signal voltages produced by a signal line driver 4 are applied on pixel electrodes in a liquid crystal panel 2. Thus, amplitudes and the symmetry of voltages driving the liquid crystal panel 2 can be varied by varying a low voltage-side reference signal 14 and a high voltage-side reference signal 15 which are to be supplied to the circuit 6.
