摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten the weight of each power roller and reduce the load of a finishing work for a circumferential face by denting a part toward the outside diameter of an inside end face positioned in the opposite side of each trunnion axially rather than a part toward the inside diameter out of the axial both end faces of the respective power rollers and forming a level difference in the inside end face. SOLUTION: In this toroidal type continuously variable transmission, the rotation of an input-side disc is transmitted to an output-side disc via a pair of power rollers 8A and, when changing the rotation speed ratio between the input and output sides, a pair of trunnions 6 are displaced inversely by a drive piston. In this case, a part toward the outside diameter of an inside end face 35 positioned in the opposite side of the trunnion 6 out of axial both end faces of the power roller 8A rotatably supported to the inside face sides of the trunnions is dented axially rather than a part toward the inside diameter and a step difference 37 is formed in the diametrical intermediate part of the inside end side 35. The part toward inside rather than the step difference 37 is formed into an annular projection part 38 projected axially across the whole circumference rather than the part toward the outside diameter.
