PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which obtains a halftone image of high quality by preventing bit drop-out at γ conversion for dither matrix conversion. SOLUTION: A γ-conversion table 1 with 9-bit input and 12-bit output and a dither conversion table 2 with 16-bit input and 8-bit output are arranged. The 8-bit width of image data is expanded into 12 bits of image data (8 bits) + matrix size (4 bits)} by the γ-conversion table 1. The output of this γ-conversion table 1 and outputs of a subscanning counter 205 and a main scanning counter 206 are inputted to the dither conversion table 2, and dither conversion processing is performed to output 8-bit correction image data. Consequently, a halftone image of high quality can be obtained by the γ-correction which performs data conversion, using all of an ideal number of densities which can be represented in a dither matrix. |
