PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the lighting unit which is in a compact shape, has high reliability against temperature/humidity variation, vibration, and a shock, and is well assembled. SOLUTION: This lighting unit comprises a fluorescent discharge tube 2 which is arranged nearby the incidence-side end surface of a light guide plate 1, a rubber holder 8 which covers and fixes the fluorescent discharge tube, an optical film which is set on the light guide plate, and a housing 9 which clamps the optical film and light guide plate or rubber holder. In this case, the rubber holder is arranged at a corner part of the light guide plate, i.e., a corner bending part 8 of the fluorescent discharge tube and the position of the optical film is fixed by a projection part 100 formed on the rubber holder. |
