<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency by allowing a main station to assign the number of time intervals in a time division multiple access mechanism to terminals by considering transmission delay and allowing the terminals to request reservation while considering this assigned number so as to eliminate the wasteful requests for reservation. SOLUTION: In the case when the main station 1 and the plural terminals 2 communicate by the time division multiple access mechanism through a transmission medium 3, the station 1 assigns the number of the time intervals to the terminals 2. At this time, the station 1 assigns the number of the time intervals A to each terminal 2 considering a maximum transmission delay. Each terminal 2 stores A in a memory, calculates the necessary number of the time intervals R based on data made to be a packet to be communicated, and informs the station 1 of R'=R-A as the number of the requests. The station 1 assigns the number of the time intervals to the terminal 2 according to this. By dynamically assigning the number of reservations like this, the ratio of not-used assignments can be reduced to improve the performance of a system through the effective use of reservations and to reduce average rotation waiting of a transmission memory.</p> |
