PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set an input-output device in each user and to set a transferring method by directly performing transmission output of input data from an input device to an output device being an output destination without going through a host computer and selecting an optional output device from the input device to perform transmission output of the input data to the output device. SOLUTION: In this multifunction system consisting of an input device, an output device and a host computer which are connected to a network, transfer system information which defines a transfer system between the input and output devices is prepared (S611 and S622) according to the device information (S601 to S604) of the input device and the device information (S605 to S610) of the output device, logical input and output devices information is prepared according to the transfer system information, logical input and output devices are registered S616, and data transfer is performed from the input device to the output device according to the registered logical input and output device information. Further, the transfer system definition information is changed or added for each user, and the logical input and output devices are registered (S613 to S615) according to the transfer system definition information and the user information.
