PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically design the pattern of a light guide empirically designed in the past by computing a brightness correcting value averaging brightness distribution before correction, and deciding the size or the scattering degree of the optical pattern forming the light guide according to the brightness correcting value. SOLUTION: Brightness distribution before correction is computed from a light guide shape model by optical simulation. Next, brightness correcting value averaging the brightness distribution before correction is computed, and the size and the scattering degree of an optical pattern formed into a light guide body is decided according to the brightness correcting value. Hereby, the design method of the optical pattern of the light guide mainly guiding the light from a light source in a prescribed direction with prescribed intensity, a liquid crystal display device having an optical pattern, a manufacturing method of the optical pattern, a shot blast device for forming the optical pattern, and an abrasive grain sorting device for the shot blast device can be obtained.
