PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce dispersion of brightness in a panel and improve brightness of the panel by reducing unevenness of light emitting intensity distributions in cells. SOLUTION: A plasma display panel is structured by combining a front glass substrate 1 and a back glass substrate 8 so that a tip end surface of a barrier plate 11 is brought into contact with a protective layer 7. A pair part of an X electrode 2 and a Y electrode 3 forms a cell between the two adjacent barrier plates 11. An electrostatic capacity between the X electrode 2 and the Y electrode 3 in the cell is taken as CXY, and an electrostatic capacity between the Y electrode 3 and an address electrode 9 is taken as CAY. When CAY/CXY<=0.25 is satisfied, unevenness of light emitting intensity in a longitudinal direction of the X, Y electrodes in the cell is reduced.
