DISPLAY DEVICE AND TEMPERATURE CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the temperature inside the device from rising by controlling the luminance value of a light emitting element which raises the temperature in the device by using temperature information in the device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a temperature obtaining means 10 which obtains temperature data in a large picture display device 1, a storage means 11 which stores the data obtained, a light emitting controlling means 13 which controls the luminance value of a light emitting element 14 based on the computed results of a control/computation processing section 12 by using the data read from the means 11, and a light emitting means 5 which drives the element 14 by the controlled luminance value. By controlling the light emitting luminance of the element 14 based on the temperature in the device 1, the temperature inside the device 1 is kept within an appropriate temperature range.
