PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object boundary detector and an object boundary detection method capable of excellently detecting the boundary of a series of two-dimensional images provided with a point for indicating a luminance value. SOLUTION: This detector is provided with a motion emphasis image generation means 410 for performing filtering and motion analysis to respective images and for generating motion emphasis images, a search parameter extraction means 420 for deciding a first search parameter from a dynamic snake model applied to the motion emphasis images, a boundary estimation value search means 430 for searching the respective emphasis images by using the search parameter and estimating a latent boundary, a projection means 440 for projecting the latent boundary into the image immediately before and the present and next emphasis images, and a parameter updating means 45 for updating the search parameter of the image immediately before and the present and next images. Until reaching the convergence of a prescribed level, search, projection and updating are repeated. |
