PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer transmission equipment which will not perform meaningless call originating operations by originating a call only once, when the reception side which is not provided with a print data reception function. SOLUTION: Image data is generated from print data by an image editing part 3, and data is stored in a FAX storage part 5, and a FAX transmission part 4 takes out data from the FAX storage part 5 and checks the transmission mode to transmit it, and a FAX merge part 2 discriminates the transmission destination from a user ID to report the transmission result. Transmission systems of FAX transmission and print data transmission can be selected, and print data and FAX destination data are sent from a personal computer, and data is sent to the designated destination through a telephone line connected to a FAX part of a composite machine. Thus, detailed reasons of transmission failure or the like due to the absence of the print data reception function are reported to the user to enable the user to easily judge a coping method.
