PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically process image data by appropriate algorithm and to appropriately recognize images even when there are many kinds of objects and the characteristics of the image data are dispersed. SOLUTION: The image of the object 1 is picked up by an image pickup camera 2, the image data are stored in an image data memory 5, the image data are respectively image-processed by plural algorithm and calculation parameters in plural image processing modules 8a-8f and respective feature vectors are found. The image processing module which finds the feature vector that is the closest to the feature amount set beforehand corresponding to the object is decided in an optimum feature vector discrimination means provided in a central arithmetic part 6, and the image recognition of the shape and position, etc., of the object 1 is performed from the feature vector obtained in the image processing module. |
