PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an area division device for highly accurately detecting an area shape. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an area attribute model selection part 22 for selecting an initial area attribute model and an area attribute model, a pixel classification part 21 for evaluating pixel attributes defined by an input image and a motion vector by the distance function with the attribute model of respective areas and leading out area shape information for indicating the probability that respective pixels belong to respective area candidates, a convergence judgement part 25 for judging convergence from the area shape information and sending out a repetition end instruction, an area shape information output selection part 26 for outputting the area shape information as a final result in the case of receiving the repetition end instruction and sending out the led-out area shape to an area integration control part 24 in the other case, a model generation part 23 for regenerating the area attribute model from the input image and the motion vector based on the area shape information and the area integration control part 24 for evaluating similarity between the attribute model, integrating the areas into one in the case that the similarity is equal to or more than a prescribed threshold, urging regeneration to the attribute model generation part 23 and outputting the area attribute model to the area model selection part 22 in the case that the areas to be integrated are not present. |
