PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent thermal demagnetization of a permanent magnet and reduce the size and weight of a rotary machine and increase torque by making the outer diameter of reinforcing plates mounted on both ends in the axial direction of a rotor iron core smaller than that of a rotor to prevent the generation of eddy current in the reinforcing plates due to a magnetic flux from stator windings. SOLUTION: On both ends in the direction of a rotary shaft 9 of a rotor iron core 8, side rings 81 (reinforcing plates) are mounted to hold the rotor iron core 8 and a permanent magnet 6. In order to reduce the influence from a change in a magnetic flux from stator windings 5 and suppress the generation of eddy current, the outer diameter of the side rings 81 is made smaller than that of a rotor 3. Due to this structure, the increase in temperature of a rotary electric machine 1 can be suppressed, thereby reducing the size of the rotary machine, which contributes to the increase in mountability onto a car and the reduction in weight of the car and the consequent increase in the performance of the car.
|
