PURPOSE: A teletext receiver with a television receiver is provided to display only teletext on a monitor by adding the monitor to a television receiver. CONSTITUTION: An antenna receives broadcasting signals. A tuner selects frequencies of the received broadcasting signals and generates intermediate frequencies. An intermediate frequency demodulator demodulates the generated intermediate frequencies. A audio processing portion processes demodulated audio signals of the demodulated intermediate frequencies. A video processing portion processes demodulated video signals of the demodulated intermediate frequencies and outputs separately RGB signals, complicate video signals, horizontal synchronous signals, and vertical synchronous signals. A text signal decoder receives the complicate video signals, the horizontal synchronous signals, and the vertical synchronous signals, detects text signals from the demodulated video signals, decodes the detected text signals to output RGB signals, horizontal synchronous signals, and vertical synchronous signals. An audio-driving portion amplifies and drives the audio signals as low frequencies. A RGB matrix performs matrix processing for the RGB signals from the video-processing portion. A video-driving portion amplifies and drives RGB signals output from the RGB matrix as low frequencies. A speaker outputs the amplified audio signals. A picture tube outputs the amplified video signals. A connecting jack connects the RGB signals, the horizontal synchronous signals, and the vertical synchronous signals output from the text signal decoder with an outside. A monitor displays teletext.
