PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrocarbon sensor having a satisfactory yield and high detection accuracy. SOLUTION: This sensor is equipped with a solid electrolyte layer 1 comprising barium/cerium-based oxides, a cathode 2 and an anode 3, a pair of electrodes installed on the solid electrolyte layer 1, a ceramic substrate 4 having a thermal expansion coefficient roughly equal to that of the solid electrolyte layer 1, and a heater 7 installed on the ceramic substrate 4. In this case, the solid electrolyte layer 1 and the ceramic substrate 4 are jointed together. |
