摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a protective component element to be easily and rationally built into a necessary standard cell, by a method wherein the protective component element is ensured of a space in the standard cell, a standard cell that requires the protective component element is determined after the standard cells are wired, and the protective component element is built into the standard cells. SOLUTION: A MOS transistor equipped with a diffusion region 1, a drain or a source electrode 2, and a gate electrode 3 is provided in a standard cell. A space holder 5 is provided in a marking form on a line 4 that protrudes from the gate electrode 3 in the layout of an integrated circuit. After an integrated circuit composed of standard cells is actually built in, a standard cell that requires a protective diode is determined, and a protective diode is built into the cell. Moreover, it is taken into consideration that an enough space is reserved for a protective diode by the space holder 5 in a layout, so that the protective diode can be easily built into the cell.
