PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system with little light loss and lighting unevenness. SOLUTION: An object to be illuminated is placed at a certain distance from a light-emitting member 1 that emits light from a light-emitting part having a certain length along a center axis. An optical system reflect the light emitted from the light-emitting member 1 to illuminate the object to be illuminated 3. The optical system includes a reflective surface axially symmetrical about the center axis. A part of the light rays emitted from a base point of the light- emitting member 1 are reflected on a first reflective area on the reflective surface of the optical system to reach the object to be illuminated 3 without cutting across a virtual plane orthogonal to a perpendicular line from its reflection point to the center axis including the center axis. A part of the light ray emitted from a base point of the light emitting member 1 are reflected on a second reflective area on the reflective surface of the optical system, to reach the object to be illuminated passing through a virtual plane orthogonal to a perpendicular line from its reflection point to the center axis including the center axis.
