<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance frame synchronization in a WCDMA communication system. SOLUTION: A correction circuit generates a 2nd symbol estimate value in response to 1st and 2nd estimate signals (α1j), (α2j) and 1st and 2nd input signals (R1j), (R2j). A combination circuit generates a 2nd symbol signal (S1) in response to plural 1st symbol estimate values, and generates a 2nd symbol signal (S2) in response to plural 2nd symbol estimate values. A synchronization circuit 408 is connected to lines for 1st and 2nd symbol signals 400-406 and 1st and 2nd known symbols 410-416 to receive the signals and the symbols. The synchronization circuit generates a synchronizing signal 418 depending on the approximated matching between the 1st symbol signal and the 1st known symbol and between the 2nd symbol signal and the 2nd known symbol.</p> |
